A Nice Soda Cake Take 1 lb of Flour, 1/2 lb of Currants, 6 oz Plums 6 oz of Butter, 1 Egg, 1 teaspoonful of Carbonate of Soda, 1/2 pint luke warm milk, 1 oz Candid lemon peel. Just put your Soda a little warm milk after well beating them mix them together. Mrs R. Bardmells receipt I made this Cake December 23rd 1852.
