Never Fail Sponge. 4 eggs - 1 cup Flour 1 cup sugar - Juice of 1 lemon (or 1 tablespoon vinegar) Separate whites & yolks of eggs and beat each very stiff; then add to yolks 1/2 cup sugar and beat very hard again; also add 1/2 cup sugar to whites and beat 5 min.
