Orange Layer Cake 1/2 cup butter creamed with 2 " Sugar. Juice 1 1/2 oranges and rind of one orange. Stir in one at a time yolks 4 eggs. Dissolve 1/2 teaspoon Soda in 1/2 cup water and add to other ingredients Beat whites 4 eggs and stir into cake with 2 cups flour into which a teaspoon cream-a-tartar has been sifted Bake in three layers. Icing: White 1 large egg (stiff) 1 cup powdered sugar juice 1 1/2 oranges Rind one " Sugar enough to stiffen.
