Permanent Ink for writing on Linen Take a drachm of nitrate of silver, called caustic dissolve it in double its weight of pure water This in the Ink. In another glass vessel or phial dissolve a drachm of salt of tarter in an ounce & half of water (this is usually denominated the liquid pounce) with which the linen, silk or cotton is to be saturated previous to the application of the Ink. When dry use the Ink with a pen - Mrs. Eastaff. Cure for Gravel or stone Take a handful of common weed called Wild Carrot either of the roots or Blossoms pour thereon a pint & a half of boiling water, Stir it by the fire till this liquor becomes strongly impregnated with the weed. Let the patient take a tea cup full in the extremity of pain. It affords present relief, & continued will dissolve & eradicate any [illegible] substance. It may be bought in Covent Garden or at any Physic herb shop. [illegible] in the other end Mrs. Eastaff
