Jelly Cake 1 Tea cup of flour, rub into it 1 teaspoon cream of Tartar, 1 cup Castor Sugar, 3 eggs well beaten and half teaspoon Carbonate of soda dissolved in table-spoon boiling water, which must not be add till cold bake in three tins in a quick oven from 5 to 7 minutes, put jelly or marmalade between the layers - Soda Cake 1 lb Flour 1/4 lb Butter 1/4 lb Lemon peel 1/2 lb currants, 1/2 lb raisens, 3 eggs 1/2 lb sugar little volatile salts - Grill Cake 1 lb flour. 6 ozs Butter, 1/4 lb sifted sugar, 2 eggs and a little Baking powder make into a paste, roll out thickness required, and cut into the shape preferred.
