they look pretty with grated Cocoa nut heaped lightly on the tops - Nov 9th 1894 Mrs Beeforth's Almond Cake 1 lb Flour 1 lb Butter 8 or 9 eggs 1 lb Suger tea Spoonful Baking powder & a few Almonds The Roos Maderia Cake 8 oz's Flour 6 - Sugar 4 - Butter 2 Eggs, 1 Tea Spoonful B powder Flavouring to taste with lemon or Vanilla Rub the flour, butter & sugar together, then mix with Egg & milk. When all is well beaten, add the B.P. again stir well & bake in a moderate oven for an hour -
