To Bottle Fruit - Put it fresh gathered & rather [illegible] into large mouthed bottles fill them up with cold water (distilled is the best) Tie the bottles over with rag & stand up to their necks in a copper of water which should heat gradually till the water rises to 180 degrees then take the bottles out & fill up to the brim with boiling water, tie them tightly over with bladder when hot & stand them again in the water till cold Victoria Sandwiches. 1/2 lb of Sugar 1/4 lb flour 2 oz Ground rice 4 Eggs. 1 teaspoon full of baking powder & a few drops of essence of lemon -
