to say to thee: go on in the life and power of the ever lasting truth and thou will be victorious in the end. If there are any people who need to be encouraged it is the ministers of the gospel. They are a mistry [sic] to the worldly minded people, whose mission is something they don't understand. I have done what I could to hold up thy hands, when I was in Iowa and in North Carolina and other places But it is the work of the Enemy to stop all true ministers of the Gospel in any way he can. When the sun is eclipsed darkness ensues; when the Gospel sun fails to shed her rays on the sons and daughters of men total darkness is nigh. We are admonished not to let that light in us be darkened. If it be how great is that darkness. We need to keep our lamps trimmed and burning, that our lights may shine to the ingathering of many precious souls. And at the end of life's journey we will receive a crown of life that fadeth not away. I hope to see thee at the quarterly meeting at Snowhill. A friend told me last spring that he saw people that were reached at Snowhill, Oh, such a powerful meeting! Aunt Mary W. Stokes was there. She was pleased and satisfied which was manifested by her testimony. I wrote thy father last week, I told him I was with thee some, and I thought thee was getting through the meetings well considering the discouragements thou had at home. No doubt thou has an open and broad field to work in, and many very warm hearts to greet thee. When thou arrives home or writes please remember me to thy dear husband and children, as they are often in my mind. I am always glad to hear from thee and family. I now bid thee an affectionate farewell, Thy friend Joel Johnson.
