-4 at home 4 mo., 28th, 1912 To my dear Friend Ida R. Chamness, I have read several chapters in the Gospel of John this forenoon. I have had a quiet and sweet rest in body and mind. I feel the refreshing streams of undying love to fill my heart, and my thoughts have flown away to thee. Thou has been, and still is a bright star to help me on my way. I have never found in any other person what I have found in thee. O, so lovely to know that my gift in the ministry has been kept through these many years by my heeding to the still, small voice thou spoke of at Woodland, near five years ago. And at that meeting I felt that sweetness of unity with thee, I never had felt to any one before. And it has never lost its savor, and purity with me; and I hope never will, no never. My heart beats warm with the overflowings of the gentleness and movings of the Spirit of God; that moved on the waters in the begining of the creation of the world; that divided the day from the night. So this star, Thou Ida, has guided me; and divided me from many dark spiritual people, which has proven to be my safety. I can see them now plentifully that would be glad to entrap me; and turn my eyes to please them. They are out of the truth. O no,
