-5- They can not take these things into Heaven. The gates of the city of God are closed against them. I received thy letter last sixth day; so glad thou was able to sit up and write me. O, so touching it was; and with life, and refreshing in that union and sweet communion that brought us into the unity, by the movings of His own Spirit; burning with a Heavenly glow of fire from the Holy Alter of God on our hearts: that none knew but those who feel the purifications and the Holy operations of His power to change the stony hearts, and melt them so as to feel sensible of that birth, that is begotten in the soul through the Eternal Spirit of God; that often times we are clothed spiritually with the robes of salvation; the true wedding garment, that all who feast at the king's table doth wear, Ida. Thou has a right to wear that Royal robe that will be given thee at the end of life's journey; when all thy tears will be taken away. And no more pain nor sorrow will trouble these bodies of ours. O how Happy to feel such sweet consolation awaiting us beyond the shares of time. O Ida how I love to read thy letters; and what a loss to me to do without them. None has been sent to aid me like thee. Thy voice has cheered me when all others failed. O, what I felt this forenoon in my heart before I arose! I can only say my whole mind and thoughts seem to be
