-42- We went to a meeting amongst the Jews. Ida spoke to them in a very feeling way. And they expressed their approval of her communication. The Friends appoint meetings ahead of us; and they go with us to the various places. We read in the British Friend: The company of the American Friends was acceptable to them. And their preaching was like it was sixty years ago. 16th. Yester-day morning Ida and Pauline and Mary Stokes and myself took the cars to Maidstone meeting, a distance of sixty miles. We passed through much beautiful scenery. At five o'clock to-day we left London; and took the cars for New Port, Wales. We had traveled in London and attended all of the meetings in the city. And had formed acquaintance with many Friends. We were tired when we arrived at the Coberg Hotel. We were now in the British Isles making arrangements for meetings. New Port, ninth month, 17th. Pauline and Mary are out taking a walk; and I am home writing and resting. To-morrow I will be sixty-four years old: how swiftly time flies away with us all. Ida R. Chamness has been divinely led; and highly favored above any person I ever knew; while we have been on this trip. She has visions often; and they prove true. She is
