-49- the last meeting we had in England. And we returned to the hotel and had a good night's rest. William Land and Hannah Brayton went with us to the ship the next day; and bid us a final farewell on board the ship. William Land had traveled around with us in England and other parts in the British Isles; guiding us and helping us from one meeting to another. The ship sailed at five o'clock. 12th. month, 3rd., I was made glad to see thy handwriting on a letter to me again. Yes, Ida, we got the victory in Europe over the trators of North Carolina Yearly-meeting. And I am rejoiced over it. And in that case thou was the one that God prepared before the face of all the people; to lead me out of bondage away from them all; into the foreign land and the broad field of Europe. Now, thou canst see plainly, Ida, without thy aid and help extended to me, I never would have been able to have made such a complete canvas as I did in Norway; where we had the most precious, sweet meetings. And it would have been a blank space in my life. I know we had many precious meetings in the British Isles but none excelled those we had in Norway. Ida, I see now there was a divine Hand
