-63- against Joel for not having accepted the proposed companion: which Benjamine Brown and Henry T. Outland, both said to Joel Johnson, 'they would not want him for their companion.' But Joel's name was taken off from the select body on account of it. Some had undertaken for this same reason; having had this trouble up against Joel; to write a letter to me to request me to not come to their yearly meeting that year. As they feared I would work against their (wicked work) on hands against Joel: which I knew nothing about; nor their reason for having written me. Never-the-less, I had to go; and the message that I should deliver to them was given to me whilst riding on the train to go there, to North Carolina. Ezek., 37th. chapter namely: about the dry bones; that the prophet was to prophisy on and bring them together, come to life and the two sticks to be brought together to one. I was informed by a dear friend of mine there; that I had spoken to the condition of the meeting; as if I had known it all. And some thought that I had been informed.
