-92- ations of the earth are tottering with the cruel war clouds which rain destruction torrents; as men are being slain by the thousands - awful, awful indeed; untold woe and misery are entailed to carnal warfare, and human bloodshed; saying nothing of the loss of the immortal souls that will be turned into that lake of fire; the smoke thereof will ascend up forever and ever. This is portrayed in the Scriptures of truth as the second death around which many horrors hang. Now, the victorious part is consoling to us. The same holy scriptures tell us, 'They that overcome the wicked one by living faith, in the Son of God; and having their guilty con-science sprinkled with the blood of Christ; which is the blood of the everlasting covenant; by which we may overcome the wicked one. Over such the second death hath no power.' Ida, we read when our Saviour was betray-ed, and hung on the cross; there was darkness over the land: so he is again betrayed now. The world is gone mad and mixed itself in with the militant church; and darkness is again spreading itself as a morning cloud over the land. Ida, people tell me they are surprised that things are as they are. I tell them I am not surprised at all. Jesus told them of these things: "Nation against nation and kingdom against kingdom". These are a true test, to show people where they are standing. Whether they are on the sinking sand, which is the foundation of the Enemy, or
