-96- To my gospel friend in Christ, Ida R. Chamness, I have been sick over six months; not able to be up or do any work. I feel at times nearly exhausted; and the end of life is near. I don't sit up all day: it is shortness of breath. The flue or La-grip left my system in a very weak state. I went to Snowhill quarterly meeting last week, all were favored meetings. Ida, the friends told me I preached two men out of the house. I was pictur-ing out to them; the lost state of man in that lake of fire that never was prepared for man, but for the devil and his angels. Thomas Hoag said there were unbeliev-ers there in that house, he felt sure. he said the next fore-moon he went home rejoicing for such favored meetings which we had had. Silas Chappel told me the meeting at Cedargrove and Rich Square were fast falling to pieces now. O, thy prophesy to them years ago, how true! Thou told them that like Babylon of old; they had fallen away from truth. Many became cold, and died away from the gospel of Christ.
