In dear Uncle's hurry he put me on the wrong train; and had to carry me a long distance to the right train. He nearly played out; so a kind looking officer came and they carried me together. Thorof Bryne stepped in with a fine boquet of roses from his own garden; which he had brot to give to the English lady (Bertha Bracy) but when he saw me, he said, "I'll give these to you; I think you deserve them, I did not know you were going along too." Of course, I thanked him heartily. Very soon we were gliding along; our train winding its way around the high mountains; and along side of many waters and streams. Some of the mountains were bare and rocky, whilst others were covered with green trees and beautiful ferns and mosses of various kinds. The scenery was truly grand and awe inspiring beyond description. The English lady said 'it was so beautiful that she thot it a good thing the sun was not shining, or a person could almost burst She had been among the mountains of Germany, but said she had never before seen any-
