We directed him to the only saving grace and true teacher to be found in his own heart, and the boundless love of God to the penitent sinner, who is ready to forgive; - the light of Christ within, the hope of glory; and to be silent before God, - wait for His appearance in the silent worship where His still small voice can be heard, and the income of God's touches by His life giving Spirit can be felt in the soul; - and be given to pray in the constraining power of the sense of need which God giveth; and thus be born again by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost. Jesus said, "The kingdom of God is within you", and where His kingdom is, is where we must find Him. God speaks to each human being by His Holy Spirit, He sheds lights in the human conscience, gives feelings of what is right and what is wrong, feelings of repentence for wrongs committed, consciousness of sin, and there in the human heart, He invites each one to come to Him, to give Him the whole heart, and to live for Him, and guides us through life's journey if we will but accept His guidance and obey the feelings He gives us...John and the other boys spent an hour each day in silent worship and prayer he said. John wrote: "Dear Mother: (He called me mother) I don't know of anyone else in all this world I world I could have turned to; but you were there ready and doing things of great help for me. And now as I look back over these long weeks and months that I have spent in here (prison) I have a feeling of great respect for your understanding, and the workings of the Lord and His wonders, My indebtedness to you can never
