-9- There are three things we must all do if we are to reach the kingdom of God and receive everlasting life; - first, repentence for our sins; second, forgiveness for those who sin against us; third, greatest of all - faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. By repentence for our sins, we must feel this repentence in our hearts...Forgiveness is to hate no man, bu instead understand and forgive him...Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his wonderful ways of leading us to the truth. John Mercer 1,5,1938 Jesus said; "Thou shalt not kill." The Capital Punishment Law is contrary to the laws of God who is Supreme law giver to man. To take the life of one who has taken a life is repeating the awful crime of cutting off precious human life, which God alone has a right to do when He will. And the latter crime is always committed by those who premeditate it and who profess to be good citizens and Christians. Thus they set the example of this awful crime before the public. We cannot be good citizens and Christians while we are breakers of the laws of our King Supreme. Jesus said: "Love your enemies," and, Pray for those who despitefully use you and persecute you that ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven," etc. And "Overcome evil with good" - Not with evil - God's love is the strongest power existing, and is the only influence that can redeem anyone. Jesus said, "He came not to destroy men's lives but to save them."
