Davenport Iowa April 1869 Cousin Charles I guess you think I am never going to answer your letter which I received along time ago. School commenced Monday. We had nearly three weeks vacation that is longer than you had. Pa had a letter from Cousin George last week he said his Father was getting better and could sit a little while. The boys are making sugar. Pa send for some it has not come yet but we are expecting it any day. I had a letter from Myron last week & suppose your hear fro them oftener than we do. Uncle Baldwin came last night and went west this morning.
