Davenport House Davenport Iowa Sonday March 20th 1864 Miss Salina Saltsgiver Acording to a promise I now I sit down to write you a short letter, And I think it will be verry short to as I have such a bad headache that I cannot think of anything to write as my whole thought are centered on a verry poor Segar that I am trying to Smoke, and I would not care if you was here to smoke a Segar with me! Wouldnt we have a grand time of it though? Well I kind a sorter think we would Dont you? It is as cold as the d-l down here and I expect it is a damd sight colder up there Frank Strong is in our company and he wrote a letter to you
