June 7th Captain Bennett, my self, and 45 others of the company concluded to go to the 3 years service and took cars for Camp Tippecanoe near Lafayette Ind. Mustered into 15th Ind Reg under Col. G D Wagner on the 14th day of June 1861 being Company I of said Regiment. June 23rd Ordered to Camp Reynolds near Indianapolis where we received our arms, tents, &c. July 1st took cars & Steamboat to Camp Clay near Cincinnati Ohio. July 4th Star\ted for Virginia. 5th arrived at Parkersburg. Took Balt & Ohio R.R. 7th arrived at Clarksburg 8th stated on our first march
