Sep 21st Raining hard all day. I went with waggon to Adam See['s] after corn. He is a prisoner in our care proved his family left yesterday, something is left for the soldiers to [illeg] and destroy which they are doing in a vengence . I seized a [couple?] [best?] [ton] kettle and some cabbage and left. On the way to camp I shot a goose and will have a great tomorrow Sep 22. I was detailed for officer of the Guard last night [illeg] [ned] all night. Lay around camp all day. In evening got 4 letters 1 from Sally with good news 1 from sister Margaret also good
