In the latter part of the days we ware told [to] prepare to spend the night in here ware and all setdeligently to work [to?] building huts out of the branches of Spruce pine. Sep 29th Weather clear and quite a heavy frost this morning . Orders given for us to clean our arms and be ready to march at a moments notice. Boys mostly complaining of haveing heavy colds. As for myself [I am] suffering considerable [illeg] soreness [illeg] Shoulders and a Stiff neck. This one of the finest days ever saw taking into consideration the beautiful [3 illeg] no country could beat it. [illeg] and variance. We are [to__et?] get? [illeg] [conceive?] and [2 or 3 illegible]
