The 7th 9th Ind & 32nd Ohio Regiments had proceeded us some 3 hours and had driven in the enemys pickets at daylight and by 8 a.m. Our whole force were in battle array before the enemys breastworks and consisted of the following Regiments viz. The 7th 9th 13th 14th 15 and 17 Ind and the 32nd and 5 Companies of the 25th Ohio Regiments and 6 pieces of Rifled 10 lb cannon under command of Capt Loomis 2 12 lb Howitzers & 4 Brass 6 lb cannon under command of Capt Howe 2 pieces of 6 lb Brass under command of Sargt [Garman?] making in all
