a messenger overtook us with orders to about face and double quick back to camp as the enemy ware comeing in full force. We Started back on the run and went about 2 1/2 miles and the mud 1/2 Knee deep when another messenger met saying it was a false alarm. We again turned our faces homeward and arrived at 2 P.M. tired and hungry, and glad to get home. Oct 5th Our Reg all got new clothes today. Weather warm and clear. I am not well but try hard to Keep up. Oct. 6th Have been writing
