Dec 21 Today same as yesterday. Dec 22nd Raining hard all day. I am Officer of the guard & have a verry severe time, as the weather is verry disagreeable. Dec 23rd Quit raining last night and turned cold and ground is frozen. The whole division of the army ware called out at 11 Oclock last night in line of battle caused by an accidental discharge of a musket. The curses of the boys ware both loud and deep when told that it was a false alarm and as they went shivering back to their
