Jan 28th Weather verry warm and appears like April. Nothing new in camp. No news from anywhere. Jan 29. Heavy thunder Storm last night. Rainy all day. The recruiting Officers of this Reg. Started for Indiana today. Sergt Pierce McMurtries went from our Company. Jan 30st. Snowed 2 or 3 inches last night. Wet and thawing today. One of the Dutch Cavalry that are encamped here was badly hurt by the falling of a tree. Got a letter from P. McMurtrie.
