wrote part of a letter to Sally tonight. will finish when I know how I am to send it across the country toward the Ohio by way of Salt river. We are now under Command of Gen Wood with a propsect of having to go to build roads. Feb 15. Weather the coldest we have experienced this winter. Nothing new. Feb 16. Weather Still cold with some snow. heard this evening that Gen Nelson had halted at Elizabethtown. Received the news of the success of Burnsides. good news. Finished my letter to Sally tonight. No news from home since we left Camp Wickliff.
