Lay in line of battle all night getting up once to an alarm, 18 deserters came in Wait till they let us loose on these Rebs, we'll pay them, 24th, Quiet in our front but some fighting on our left At noon Hooker opened the ball on the west side of Lookout and drive the enemy finely, driving them from their works and around the side on our right where a fight was kept up until 10 at night, The affair as witnessed by us was grand Hooker we believe has gained Lookout, and we see flashes among the Clouds about the summit.
