20 The club usually has some festivity and an exchange of ten cent gifts at our regular meeting just before Christmas. In 1931 Mrs Bragg had the Christmas party and served us fruit cake sent to her by her aunt whose home is in England. In the Fall of the following year Miss Durham entertained the club members at a Virginia luncheon at the house of Mrs English. Mable Alexander, of Detroit, at one time sent a very choice box of candy asking that her mother serve it to the Cary Club Still another treat was a box of real Japanese decorated wafers or cookies sent by Louise Rathburn, of Seattle, Washington. She wrote that she was sending them in memory of her mother, who was an early member of the club, and requested they be served at a Cary Club meeting.
