21 Guest Days and Parties Yearly guest days were held in the early days of the club when fourty and sixty and even more guests would be invited and entertainment of various kinds would be enjoyed and bounteous refreshments would be served. Since the war these guest days have not always been yearly events. At one time the club had a large number of musicians in its membership and one year during that time each meeting was opened by a musical number. In 1903 a guest day was held at the home of Mrs Davis, at which time a musican program was given. A novel feature was responses given by Cary members at roll call. Each member was requested to sing a verse of any favorite song or hymn she might choose in answer to her name. It is said that nearly all responded. Then followed a musical program by the daughters of club members. Those who took part were Bess Varis,
