had said. it was good to have been there. June 23rd 1885 no meeting July 7th 1885 The Cary Club met with Mrs [Rathburn?] Seven of its revived and enthusiastic members present. Called to order by President Mrs. Mitchell. Minutes read & adopted. It was decided to hold our meetings two hours, beginning promptly at three o'clock. No other business to attend to the meeting proceeded. The subject for the afternoon was Scotland. Mrs. [Rathburn?] gave some light on the clans & early inhabitants of the island. Mrs also giving interesting items. Mrs. Jackson read an account of how tin was obtained from some of the mines that extend far back under the ocean. An account of Mrs [name?] visit to Cuba was read & duly appreciated. Her description of Cuban life, the city smells, [illegible] +c being intensely interesting. The committee on [illegible] will serve two weeks again. Adjourned to meet at Mrs [name?] Cooks in two weeks. Mrs. J.S. Mitchell, Pres. Mrs Alexander, Secy
