Sept 11 - 1899 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Davis with 12 members and one visitor present. Roll call responded to the quotation from Woliner. The outgoing President Mrs. Dobson being absent, the Vice President Mrs Alexander gave a pleasant address to the Club which was responded to in a fine manner by the new President Mrs. Ives. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Report of Secretary of last years work read and approved. A Floweral committee consisting of Mrs Windmor and Davis appointed by President. Notion made and carried that President authorise Secretary to purchase a new secretary's book. To the regret of the Club Mrs. Robertson is obliged to sever her connection as an active member and her name will be placed on the honorary list. President called for nominations for a new member to replace Mrs. Robinson. The name of Mrs. Renbalk was proposed to be acted upon in two weeks. Notion made and carried that letters of condolence be sent to Mrs Seaton McKean and Dobson. President requested Secretary to write those letters. Mrs. Knowblou appointed critic. "Vacation School" was responded to by each member present. Mrs. Durham very kindly gave an interesting talk upon "A New Year's Reception at the White House." Mrs Crowly read an article upon "Life and Wit of Holmes." The Club joined in singing "Home Sweet Home." Adjourend to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Knowlton. Mrs. Iver Pors. Mrs. Knowlton, Sec.
