Mrs. Davis read a paper on "The Omaha Exposition". Mrs. [Voris?] gave a review of "Mrs. Solomon Smith Looking On". Motion made and carried that the program of May-7 be postponed until May-21, as May-7 would be the annual election of officers. Club adjourned to meet May-7 with Mrs. Knowlton. Ida Ives Pres. Ida P. Knowlton Sec. May-7-1900 The [Carry?] club met at the home of Mrs Knowlton with fifteen members present. Roll call responded to by "anecdotes of Patriotic Women" Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Current events given. Chairman of Program [illegible] gave an outling report of program as far as completed. Motion made and carried that it be adapted. Motion made and carried that the maximum expence for programs shall not be over eight dollars. Motion made and carried that the text books on English language shall be the [illegible] as used in the Hugh school. Mrs. Jackson sent her resignation as active member of the club, upon motion this was accepted and her name placed upon the retired list. Pres. called for nominations for membership. The following names were proposed to be acted upon in two weeks. Mrs. Wilson, Gibson, Hildebrand, Hutchinson and Griffen. The annual election of officers were Vice Pres - Mrs. Stookey, Sec.- Mrs. Humphrey. Pres. - Mrs. Taylor. Mrs. Mudge read a paper upon "Nude in Art. " The Club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Stookey. Refreshments were served and a pleasant social hour followed Ida Ives Pres. Ida Knowlton Sec.
