36 Monday September 30th 1901 Cary Sisters met with Mrs. A. W. Hutchinson, seventeen members and one guest (Mrs. de la Matyr) present Roll Call responded to by quotations from Homer. Being the first meeting of the new year the out going president, Mrs Doris, retired from the position she has so abley filled, in favor of Mrs. Alexander our new President Motion made and carried that the critic be appointed alphabetically and report the same day. Mrs. Cook critic for the day. Mrs. Reynolds not being present, Mrs. Knowlton read a paper on Roman life in Pliny's time, followed by Greek Architecture and Art, by Mrs. [illegible]. Minutes of meeting in May read and approved. The committee on entertainment for the Library Fund having no report to make Mrs. Rathbun read a communication from Mr. Mac[illegible] in which he agrees to give us a lecture or talk on reasonable terms moved and carried that Mrs. Rathbun write him for an early date in Nov. Adjourned to meet with Mrs. Stookey in two weeks Mrs. Alexander Pres. Mrs Hutchinson Sec. Oct 14th 1901 Cary Club met with Mrs S. W. Stookey Called to order by vice president. Roll call responded to by quotations from Roman writers. Twelve members present, Mrs Gibson appointed critic. Mrs Dobson read a paper on Roman and Medieval
