Monday Jan. 6th 1902 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Maddock. Called to order by Vice Pres. Eleven members and one guest present. in response to Roll call quotations on the New Year were given. Mrs. [illegible] appointed critic. Mrs. Cook read a very interesting artical on Dutch manners and customs. Mrs. Griffith paper and artical on Christmas customs of all countries was very fine. It was moved and carried that the club pay the cost of lining Mrs. Humphreys grave and the Tres. was instructed to attend to the same. By order of the Pres. Mrs. Stookey and Mrs. Doris were appointed to write a letter of condolence to Mr. Humphrey. Current events and critics report. Adjourned to meet with Mrs. Ives in two weeks. Mrs. Maddock requested the ladies to remain and served refreshments and a very pleasant half an hour was spent. Mrs. Knowlton Vice Pres. Mrs. Hutchinson Sec. Monday Jan. 20th Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Ives in the midst of a snow storm. Called to order by the Pres. Mrs. Manson appointed critic. Thirteen members responded to roll call by miscellaneous quotations, minutes read and approved. Mrs. Stookey then gave us a talk on the mound builders and cliff dwellers. Mrs. [illegible] not being prepared with her paper, read a very interesting artical upon the cultivation of coffee. Intermission of five minutes as followed by business meeting. Mrs. Stookey and Mrs. Doris profused the Club should have folders printed in memory of Mrs. Humphrey. moved and carried they inquire crits the expense of as doing and bring report to next meeting. Committee on entertainment for Library reported Mr [illegible] engaged to give his lecture May 2nd 1902. The Pres appointed Mrs. Krinzer to take the place
