Monday March 17th, 1902 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Alexander. It being a cold stormy day but eight members responded to roll call quotations from Madame de Stael. Mrs. Gibson appointed critic. Current events were given and paper on Homeric Age was read by Mrs. Reynolds. The following names were proposed for membership. Mrs. Susie Brown, Mrs. N.G. Brown, Mrs Moorhead & Mrs. T. W. Smith and the following ladies were appointed to assist at the Library for the 2 weeks following. Mrs. Cook, Taylor, Hutchinson, Gibson, Mentzer & Alexander. Adjourned to meet with Mrs Krinzer March 31st. The hostess then served refreshments and a pleasant hour was spent. Mrs. Alexander Pres. Mrs. Hutchinson, Sec. Monday March 31st, 1902 The Cary Club met a the home of Mrs. Krinzer. Called to order by Vice Pres. 16 members being present, Roll call was responded to by quotations from German authors. Minutes read and approved, three papers were then read Intellectual and Educational Life of Germany by Mrs. Mudge, German/Home and Social Life by Mrs. Reynolds ad Domestic and Literary Life of Tolstoy by Mrs. Stooky. Intermission. Called to order by Pres. followed by business. Moved and carried that as there was to be a Concert on the evening of May 2nd Mrs Rathburn be instructed or requested to write Dr. Mc[illegible] to either postpone or cancel date of Lecture here for Library fund. The Club then proceeded to vote upon the new member and Mrs. T. M. Smith was unanimously elected. Adjourned to meet with Mrs. Gibson April 14th, 1902. Mrs. Alexander, Pres. Mrs. Hutchinson, Sec.
