49 Oct 20, 1902 The club met with Mrs. Alexander. Twelve members answered to roll call with Autumn selections. The min utes of the last meeting were read and approved. Mrs. Taylor read a paper on "The Attitude of Foreign Na- tions during the Civil War." Mrs. Anderson read a paper on the Indians, their tribal relations, early history, and present condition. Mrs. Hutch- inson gave a pleasing recitation and current events were given. The club voted to do all in its power to further the plan of the City Federation to raise funds for the library. At the close of the meeting a social time and dainty refreshments were enjoyed by all. Adjourned to meet with Mrs. Cook Nov. 3. Nina Mentzer Pres. Mrs. Anderson Sec. Nov.3, 1902. The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs Cook. Quotations from Emerson were given in answer to roll call by eleven members.
