Marion Iowa March 9th 1908 The Cary Club met with Mrs. Bailey with twelve members present. Meeting called to order by the Vice President. Miscellaneous quotations were given in response to roll call. Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. On the proposition to buy additional ground for the mobile library the Federation delegates were instructed to vote against said purchase. The following bills were allowed. Federation dues $1.00 Mrs. Hutchinson 90cs Mrs. Phelps 21cs. The following interesting programme was then given. "Life of Poe" by Mrs. Cork and Mrs. Bailey gave us a talk on "Mrs. Booker T. Washingtons Part in her Husbands Mark[?]". Current events were then given and club adjourned to meeti n two weeks with Mrs. Brown. Mrs. Hutchinson Pres. Pro. Tem. Mrs. Pyle Secy. Marion Iowa March 23rd 1908 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Brown with thirteen members and one guest (Mrs. B. Bailey) present. Meeting called to order by the President. We were all very much pleased to see our dear President back again after her long illness. Quotations from Poe were given in response to roll call. Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. The following articles were then read by Mrs. Rathbun "Characteristics of Poes Poetry" and Mrs. Ives read "Lemore[?]" and "The Haunted Palace". Current events were then given after which the club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Cook. Mrs. Alexander Pres. Mrs. Pyle Secy.
