Marion Iowa Oct 5th 1908 The Cary Club held its opening meeting of the year with Mrs. Winter. Ten members were present instead of the normal quotations Mrs. Winter read one of Hamlin Garlands poems. The new Pres. gave a short address. Minutes of the previous meeting read and approved. The reports of Treas. and Sec'y. were read and approved. Mrs. Winter gave a reading. Vacation reminiscences were given by the members of the Club. Current events were then given. Club adjourned to meet in two weeks at the home of Mrs. Cook. Mrs. C.A Pyle Sec'y. Pro Tem. Marion Iowa Oct 19th 1908 Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Cook with eleven members and three visitors Miss Heimington Miss Thoda Mrs. Berry. The Pres. being indisposed Mrs. L.L. Ives acted as Pres. Pro. Tem. Quotations from Octave Thanet were given in response to roll call. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. The following Program was then give. A Trip to Les Moines by Mrs. Winter. Magazine article "The Voice of Conscience" by Mrs. Cook. Current events were given. After which Club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Rathbun. Mrs. C.A Pyle Secy. Pro. Tem
