September 13th 1909 The members of the Cary Club held their first meeting for beginning of the year, at the house of the newly elected president Mrs C A Pyle Eighteen members responded to roll call with short [r?] of their summer vacation Two former members Mrs Mudge and Miss Durham were present, and renewed their acquaintance as well as getting acquainted with those who had joined the Club, Mrs Alexander read an interesting article on "Emigration"-. Mrs Brown gave a pleasing [r?], and Mrs Sargent followed by reading a magazine article. The usual topic of current events was omitted owing to the lateness of the hour The hostess served dainty refreshments, after which the Club adjourned to meet the 27th of Sept, with Mrs J J Ives Mrs G.E.Grass Secy Mrs Pyle President
