Marion Iowa Oct 9th 1911 Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Ives with fifteen members present. Pres called meeting to order. Quotations from Shakespear were given in response to roll call. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. The History lesson - The Chaldean Assyrian and Babalonnian monarchies was presented by Mrs. Alexander in a very entertaining and helpful way. Mrs. Phelps followed with an interesting paper on Tolstoi. Current Events were then discussed. Following the program a business session was held at which committees were appointed for the year. Mrs. Brown & Griffiths are delegates to the Federation meeting & Mrs. Phelps & Ives flower committee. Club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Rathbun. The Hostess asked all to stay for social hour during which delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. Mentzer Pres. Mrs. Adderman Sec.
