Mrs. Alderman Sec. [Newspaper clip 1] Club Closes Year's Work The Cary club held the closing meeting of the club year Monday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Eliza Mentzer. A Kensington was enjoyed in the afternoon by the ladies and at six o'clock the husbands and families arrived to enjoy the delicious two course dinner served. In the later evening a program was given as follows: Reading, Mrs. W.S. Winter. Vocal Solo, Mrs. Edgar Pyle. Reading, Mrs. A.E. Blinks Vocal Solo, Mrs. J.T. Christie. Vocal Solo, J.B. Finney Every number was so much enjoyed that each one had to respond to an encore. A notable feature of this gathering was the presence of only remaining charter member of the club, Mrs. W. S. Rathbun and her family. The new program committee had completed their plans for the coming year and the programs were given out. A very pleasant and profitable year has been spent by the club and this pleasant event was a fitting close. The club was very grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Mentzer for their hospitality. [Newspaper clip 2] The ladies of the Cary Club and their families enjoyed a reunion Monday afternoon, June 10, at the large and well appointed home of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Mentzer. The ladies met at 3 o'clock for a Kensington, and the husbands and other members of the families came at 3 o'clock, when a bountiful two course supper was heartily enjoyed. After the splendid spread a program was given, which consisted of readings by Mesdames W.S. Winter and A.E. Blinks, vocal solos by Mesdames Pyle and Christie, Mr. J.B. Finney, with Mrs. Finney at the Piano An unusual feature of this final meeting of this popular club was the distribution of the printed programs for next year. [Newspaper clip 3] Cary Club Closes Year's Work. The Cary Club held the closing meeting of the club year Monday evening at the large and well-appointed home of Mr. and Mrs. C.E.Cross. A Kensington was enjoyed in the afternoon by the ladies, and at 6:30 the husbands and families arrived to enjoy an excellent supper. The house was beautifully decorated with flowers. The Cary Club is now in its 38th year, having been organized in 1878, and enjoys a full membership. The club will meet again in September, with the following officers: President - Mrs. E.J. Mentzer. Vice President - Mrs. E.W McKean. Treasurer - Mrs. A.E. Blinks
