Marion Iowa Nov 25th 1912 The Cary Club met at the home of Mrs. Winter. Meeting called to order by the president at the usual time. Fourteen members responded to roll call with Thanksgiving quotations. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Mrs. Alderman chairman of refreshment committee gave her report for guest day expenses which was accepted. [?] motion a vote of thanks was extended to the committee for the very excellent spread on that occasion. Mrs. Waffle had the lesson for the afternoon. The origin of the Public Library also Library Architecture which was most interesting. Current events were then given after which club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs. Pyle. Mrs. Blinks President. Mrs. McKean Sec'y Marion Iowa Jan 8 1912 The postponed meeting of the Cary Club was held at the home of Mrs. Alexander Wednesday afternoon at two thirty the president presiding. Nine members responded to roll call with New Years quotations. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Mrs. Griffiths paper on Travelling Libraries was very interesting. Mrs Ives being unable to be present her paper was postponed. Letters were then read from [writing in column] Recorded by mistake see page 219
