276 Marion Iowa Jan 22- 1917 Cary Club met Monday afternoon Jan 22. with Mrs Cross Eleven members present Roll Call responded to by quotations from Presidents of United States. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Mrs Pyle then read an interesting article. Subject - crossing of the Andes. The Debate Subject: Does club work benefit women in the home. led by Mrs Cross for the affirmative and Mrs Brown for the negative. was afterwards discussed by several members of the club. Committees were appointed for guest day as follows. Entertainment - Mrs Shumack, Brown and Griffiths. refreshments. Mrs Cross,Wilson and Alderman. Moved by Mrs Shumack seconded by Mrs Winter that each member be assessed equal amount and have the privilege of taking two guests. Current events were then given and club adjourned to meet in two weeks with Mrs Pyle for Club Party. Mrs Alderman. Sec. Mrs Mentzer Pres.
