286 Marion Iowa. Sept. 10, 1917. Cary Club held the first meeting of the Club year at the home of Mrs Mentzer the retiring President, who called club to order and the roll call was called by Mrs Shumack, who acted at Secty. Protem for the afternoon. Minutes of previous meeting read and approved. Report of Treas. accepted. Mrs Mentzer in a few well chosen words thanked the ladies for their support and kindness during the Club Year and presented the Gavel to the New Pres. Mrs Blinks, who very graciously accepted the new work of the club in her ever pleasing manner. Moved and carried cub meet with Mrs Wilson Sept. 25" on Tues. instead of Sept. 24" and have a picnic dinner. Committee appointed to make plans were Mrs Waffle, McKean and Winter. Mrs Alexander then read two chapters of the Club Story and Mrs Pyle gave her work on Lake Tahoe which was very interesting. Current events were then given and Club adjourned to meet in two weeks and one day with Mrs Wilson. Eleven members and one guest Mrs Burnett, Mrs Crosses daughter were present. Addie B. Shumack Sec. Protem. Mrs Blinks President. Marion Iowa, Sept, 25, 1917. Cary Club met at the beautiful country home of Mrs Wilson, 16 members and 3 visitors enjoyed a picnic spread at noon. After which President called club to order. Fall was given in response to roll call. Minutes of last meeting were read and approved. Guest day for the next meeting was discussed and each member was given the privelige of inviting 2 guests. Committee appointed for guest day were Mrs Wilson,
