50 Marion Iowa May 3 Cary Club met at the home of Mrs Griffiths The regular meeting of Apr 28 being postponed on acct of funeral of Mrs. Rathburn being held on that date. After a long illness our depar- tded sister was called to her reward Wed Apr 14 1920. She was a charter member of Cary Club. an Ernest, enthusiastic worker. as long as she was able to attend the meetings. Club was called to order by the Pres. Mrs. Alexander Roll call responded to by quotations on trees. fifteen members were present. and two visitors. Mrs Butcher & Mrs. Angel. Minutes of Apr 12" read an accepted. Mrs. Winter reported she had tickets to sell for the citizenship lectures. May 5. Sec'y reported a Memorial tree (Norway Maple) purchased. The Pres. Mrs. Alexander expressed her appreciation and thanks for flowers sent by Club during her illness. Also Mrs. Cross sent thanks for flowers from Club. Pres. appointed a committee to write a letter of condolence & sympathy to Rathburn family committee Mrs. Phelps. Bailey. Blinks. Mrs. Winter continued book Review. "The Van Guards of the Plains". After which current events were given after which Club adjn. to meet at Library grounds to hold a memorial Tree planting program
