______________________________ | Women Give Reception. | 59 | The women of the Federated clubs |gave a reception to the teachers of |the city schools Monday evening in | |the library auditorium which was |decorated with flowers and foliage. | Mrs. English, president of the fed- | |eration, was assisted in receiving the |guests by one member of each club. |A short program was given. Miss |Marguerite Sutherland sang two | |numbers. "The Little Damozel" and |"The Will-o'-the Wisp." She was ac- |companied by Miss Ruth Engstrom. |Miss Ruth Kruger gave a reading, |"Mikey at the movies," responding to | |two encores. A social hour followed |and refreshments were served. ______________________________ Marion, Iowa. Nov. 8, 1920. Rained hard, no meeting. Marion, Iowa. Nov. 22 - 1920. The Cary Club met with Mrs McKean at the usual hour. The club was called to order by the President Mrs Pyle, fourteen members responded to roll call, two visitors being present Mrs Toms and Mrs Parmenter a former member of the club. Minutes of last meeting read and accepted. The following program was given. Stoddards Lectures - Mrs Ives. Women in Ireland in Penal Days - Mrs Elson. Ireland and it's Capital and Ireland's Influence on Literature - Mrs Hanscom. The hostess served dainty refreshments and the club adjourned to meet with Mrs Cross December, 6th.
