Marion, Iowa. Sept. 24, 1923 The Cary Club met at the house of Mrs. Meutzer. The President Mrs. Shumack called the meeting to order. Fourteen members responded to roll call with summer events. Mrs. Bailey, the treasusrer, gave the annual report, having $7.46 in the treasury. Mrs. Shummack greeted the new President with a few remarks and Mrs. Bailey responded. A motion was made to enlarge the club to 24 members. It was carried to lay on the table until the next meeting. Mrs. Blinks gave a recitation which was very good. Current events were given and club adjourned to meet Oct. 8, with Mrs. Phelps. Carrie Reichert sec. Later meeting was changed to Oct. 9
