The W.C.T.U. met with Mrs. C.E. Humphrey on march 15, 1932. The meeting opened with the song, "How Firm a Foundation." Mrs. Lena German had charge of the devotionals, treading the first chapter of Joshua. It was moved, seconded, and carried that the bake sale be held on Saturday, April 9. Committees for soliciting were as follows: First ward, Mrs. Heisel; second ward, Mrs. Mason; third ward, Mrs. Hess; fourth ward, Mrs. Hamilton. It was moved, seconded, and carried that a bill of one dollar for twenty yards of white ribbon be allowed. It was moved, seconded and carried that Mrs. Hamilton's bill be allowed. It was moved, seconded, and carried that the organization buy one half dozen song books for use in the society. A very fine program followed the business session. Mrs. George Mitchell gave as an Easter reading the Resurrection chapter Matthew 28. She also read two letters from her cousin, Josie Van Der Linden, who is a missionary in Africa, giving the society a close insight into the missionary work of today. Mrs. W.J. Stewart gave a very fine talk on the subject, "Social Evils of Our Day." She stated that seemingly harmless pastimes often grow and absorb our time to such an extent that they become social evils. A discussion followed. The meeting closed with the usual benediction. Mrs. James McKee Sec'ty.
